It was a cool autumn day, she had started the day late and decided she wasn’t going to go into work. She looked at the clock and remembered her late night last night. It was a good evening out with friends. Suzanne had asked if she was getting along with her new boyfriend that she had just met the week previous. “Not really,” she said, as she remembered Tuesday when he had hit her little brother with his car. It was an accident of course. Was it? He lost an entire day. The memory was not in his memory bank. Why can’t I remember? Where did the accident happen? Alex asked Suzanne where her brother remembers it happening. Alex couldn’t recall anything. He looked at her as though she was speaking a foreigh language. Are you okay? What is going on? How do you not remember that Rob hit you? “Because it never happened,” Alex said. “What are you talking about? Of course it did! Look you even have the bumps and bruises to prove it!”
