Searching on TED.com I found this video presentation on the english language and how the vocabulary we choose changes with the different emphasis we place on certain things. This is a linguist who has a very interesting way of portraying our language.

I liked that statement, “the verb is the chassis of a sentence”.
I found Chapter 14 helpful for getting focused on “how” to write my argument. Especially check out the graphic on page 398.
Allyn and Bacon’s definition of “argument” is closer to my own definition of “negotiate”. innerestin. I just made up that word.
