To celebrate this, please submit a comment here with a link to a video (on youtube, hulu, and so forth) that has something to do with what we’ve learned in class or about your research topic.
See you then!

This is all basically exactly what we did for the proposal paper, except for the primary sources part (we only used secondary).

I thought the things she said about a thesis were good and helpful for a research paper.

This video talks a little bit of my final paper, and it is about protecting the privacy of your personal information online
Sam replied on November 30th, 2010:
This is a good video. Thanks for posting it.
Jon Jon replied on December 1st, 2010:
I also think it was a great video. It is really something to watch out for. The people who try to get your info to steal from you are sick and I want to punch them.
Russell replied on December 10th, 2010:
Some good info. Firefox and Safari are good browsers to use to for websites that use SSL or https secure logins as well. Netscape became end of development several years ago and support ended on March 1, 2008 http://browser.netscape.com/history.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iacrBDOFF44 My video clip is about my research topic of vanishing languages. The clip itself presents a little information about one of the First Nations in Alberta, Canada. The individuals speaking in the video are striving to revive their language and pass on its importance to the youngest generation. This is exactly what my chosen topic deals with.
Austin B replied on December 8th, 2010:
Interesting topic, I like it.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Nvd97RWiKk This video clip talks a lot about what I wrote my paper about. It talks about how easy it is for children to access internet pornography and how harmful it is.
Russell replied on December 10th, 2010:
When I clicked on the link, I got a message that this video has been removed by the user. Just thought I’d let you know.

This is a clip that talks about how President Obama campaigned for a national service program.
nick.simpson replied on December 7th, 2010:
This was an eye opener for sure. I spent a couple years in Mexico where they are required to give service of this kind around the same age.

This video was helpful in understanding what a topic sentence is, and where it belongs in an academic essay. I am not religious in using topic sentences throughout my papers, but I know that they are important, so I thought it would be useful to refresh my memory.
Scott Bassett replied on November 29th, 2010:
the best part about this video is the guys accent… everything seems so much more important when it’s done in an accent. For this reason I’ve decided to give my oral presentation in either a British or Australian accent.
Jon Jon replied on December 1st, 2010:
Great idea Bassett. I’m happy that you offered to give mine as well. What are friends for.
Joshua replied on November 30th, 2010:
The visual for this is not that great…but hey, only 2% of power point type videos are really helpful anyways right?

This commercial is a good example of ethos, pathos, & logos
Sam replied on November 30th, 2010:
I second that motion. It is a good example of ethos, pathos, & logos. Good insight. It is nice too because it was short.

This is a talk given by Sir Ken Robinson. He is a very persuasive speaker and he uses humor as a tool to get his point across. This talk is what inspired my paper in the first place. It is very interesting and actually quite entertaining as well.

This is an awesome guy with a beard and a Hawaiian shirt talking about citing interviews in APA format in a paper.
KylePope replied on November 30th, 2010:
You’re right about the guy having an awesome beard and hawaiin shirt. I think this information has to be legit because of those things. also because of the sweet cat clock in the backround.
Scott Bassett replied on November 30th, 2010:
Plus he uses the word extrapolate. 10/10 for this Youtube brilliance.

Sam replied on November 30th, 2010:
Keep us posted on how this turns out. Wow that is something to keep an eye on.
Jon Jon replied on December 1st, 2010:
That is the stupidest dang thing I’ve ever heard. I bet she’d sue the sidewalk for tripping her if she could. I hope she burns in Heck.

And I thought it was dangerous driving here in Utah. This ties into my topic of driver education because if teenagers are not educated correctly, this may happen!
