UVU Writing
Garrett Winn's Writing Classes for UVU

This post is for commenting and discussing about the reading and assignments that are due on the 12th.

Your reading assignment:

  • GL 25-46, 125-137
  • DK 114, 126-127
  • And, the sources for the C student paper (on Blackboard). After logging into Blackboard and this class, go to the Rhetorical Analysis Paper folder. Then, the sources you want to look at are called C-2-Source-Connett and C-3-Source-GibsonMoore.The C student started with a source that was not peer reviewed. Figure out which one it was (and you don’t have to read that one). Then, read the source that the student used for the final paper. You need to be prepared to discuss it in class. We will use the source to start writing the Rhetorical Analysis paper together as a class.
  • Your homework assignment:

  • Research History report. Write this up in a document and then attach the document to an email to me. Make sure to format it using the guidelines from the Formatting handout. See the 2020 Handouts for more details.
  • On the post about Issue Generation (the one above this post), list 2 or more research topics that you are considering for this class.
  • As part of the 5 peer comments you need to make over the whole semester, you can go through and comment on other people’s topics if you want. Ask questions about them like what you would want to know or tell what you think about the topic (your opinion on the issue).
  • Finally, I forgot to hand out the assignment sheet for the Interview Memo to the 7pm class. You can find it on the Handouts page. I will also have them in class on Wednesday. The assignment is due on the 26th, but I want to give you plenty of time to find someone to interview.
